Cellulose Insulation
Air infiltration is an enemy of heating and cooling fuel bills as
it causes drafts, energy loss, and convectional airflow. "Dry" sprayed
cellulose insulation uses the latest application techniques along
with natural AFT fibers to effectively seal the wall cavity. "Dry"
spray cellulose insulation totally fills the wall cavity regardless
of the wall stud spacing. Off-center wall stud spacing of only 1/4
inch results in an uninsulated wall area of 24 square inches based
upon conventional width fiberglass batts. In addition this eliminates
the potential gaps from hand cutting fiberglass to fit non-standard
wall cavities spaces.
Gaps can also exist around electrical boxes, wiring, plumbing, air ducts,
etc. that are located in the wall. The seamless cellulose blanket reduces
air infiltration resulting in increased comfort and reduced energy costs
throughout the full year.
After dry spraying the cellulose insulation into the wall cavity, the
excess fibers are scrubbed with a specially designed tool that creates
a smooth surface for the drywall.
"In 1990, The University of Colorado-Denver compared sprayed cellulose
and fiberglass batt insulation in identical structures during the winter
heating season and found that cellulose insulation was 38% tighter and
required 26% less energy."
Your insulation decision is a major factor in the monthly energy costs.
Making the "right" decision can be one of your best investments in your
home as you "pocket" the monthly savings.
